A lot of people are telling you who to support for President. All I’m going to do is tell you who I’m supporting for President and why! The choice is yours…
Barack Obama best represents all the people in our country. Not just 47% but 99% and even the 1%. It is his leadership that is our best chance for international security and peace and the transformation of the American economy.
In less than four years, he has developed and implemented more change than any previous President in my 60 year lifetime. I don’t agree with everything that he has done but I do believe we are going in the right direction. Let’s look at his record!
President Obama enters office with the economy in shambles and middle and low income families in more pain and insecurity than any time in our recent history. Wars in Iraq and Afghanistan continue to challenge our country and the world landscape.
To address all of this, he takes the following actions…
The President develops and implements an economic stimulus package to create jobs and move the economy forward with mixed results.
The President bails out banks and investment firms to keep the economy from declining further. I disagree with these actions. But, the President bails out the auto industry saving thousands of jobs.
The President signs the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act allowing lawsuits challenging pay discrimination against women in the workplace to continue without regards to time.
The President ends our involvement with the Iraq War and makes a commitment to end our involvement with the Afghanistan War.
American military find and kill Osama Bin Laden under orders from the President.
President Obama and other Democrats begin the process of health care reform resulting in major changes. Some mixed results but a bold move…
The President gets rid of “don’t ask, don’t tell in the military. And he personally comes out in support of gay marriage. The President appoints the first Hispanic women to the Supreme Court and during a second term will have two more appointments.
While the President does not keep his promise on immigration reform, he signs an executive order allowing young people of undocumented parents to remain in the United States with certain conditions. It’s not the perfect answer but it is a step in the right direction.
President Obama is “a work in progress” as we all are…But, his life has included being brought up by a single mom and working for $10,000 a year as a community organizer. He knows struggle and sacrifice. This goes a long way in my support for the President getting four more years.
He has taken many other actions on energy, education and the environment. As I have said, I do not agree with some but I believe in his leadership and the direction of the country.
“As Lincoln said to a nation far more divided than ours, “We are not enemies, but friends…though passion may have strained it must not break our bonds of affection.” And to those Americans whose support I have yet to earn – I may not have won your vote, but I hear your voices, I need your help, and I will be your President, too.”

I am supporting Barack Obama for President!
